Paul Bunyan Mall Offers Local Views on National Trends and Topics

ShopStar members identify favorite trends in swimwear

BEMIDJI, MN – Whether it is heavy-metal hardware or old Hollywood glamour, swimsuits are making as much of a fashion statement as clothing this summer. Between June 15 and July 1, Paul Bunyan Mall’s ShopStar members weighed in on their favorite swimwear trends through our online poll.

Old Hollywood glamour was the clear favorite, generating nearly 39 percent of online votes. The one-shoulder trend was translated into swimwear this season and received 22 percent of the votes, with “racy” lace-up detail close behind, tallying nearly 17 percent of the vote. Heavy-metal hardware and delicate “ditsy” floral details round out the votes, each totaling 11 percent of the vote.

ShopStar continually features new polls, asking our members to share their opinions on trends, movies, events, etc. Our newest poll was inspired by “summer blockbusters,” a term coined in response to the 1975 movie Jaws, a nationwide hit that led to moviegoers waiting in “block-long” lines. The poll asks: “What’s your favorite summer blockbuster?” ShopStar members can select their favorite from one of the five movies listed or share their thoughts in the forum regarding movies that didn’t make the list.
